A few "FIRSTS" and other cute photos

First time in his new HIGH CHAIR (just playing with toys and learning how to sit in it).

First time eating from a spoon. Rice cereal. I think he liked it.

He can't bend his arms in his big orange coat!

Giggling a lot. Such a happy boy!

Baby Sitting Oliver

Luca and I watched Oliver for the afternoon and Jonathan stopped bye and held Luca for the first time!

Santa in Bayside, Queens

Luca met SANTA at the Bayside Terrace Mall and didn't cry. Just looked around and smiled when prompted!

4 months old...drool anyone?

Luca is 4 months (16 weeks old) and 18 lbs. It seems like OVERNIGHT he became more alert and aware. He's grabbing for toys that are put in front of him now. He's also able to immitate you when you stick out your tongue and has given us the raspberries a few times. Still talking a lot and adding new sounds. Really loves sucking on his fingers. AND is now totally distracted while breastfeeding...he sucks, stops, looks at mommy, smiles and then goes back in for more milk. This process is repeated until I basically have had enough. I call it the 5 strikes and your OFF rule. It's very cute!

13-14 wks.—Hands and Feet

In the past 2 weeks, Luca has discovered his hands and feet and gained enough control to hold a rattle. It's fun to watch him try to get both his hands into his mouth at the same time.

The other photos are of Luca taking a nap in his stoller at the mall. SO PEACEful (see shirt).
and Luca playing with all his toys at tummy time.

Happy HALLOWEEN!

Luca = 3 months old this Friday

Last week Luca went to the Doctor and he's now:
26" long (3 3/4" growth since birth) which puts him off the charts for height
14 lbs. 4.5 oz.(gained almost 5 lbs. since birth) which puts him at the 100 percentile for weight

Luca dressed up as a bear this Halloween morning. Can you find him in the photos??

We went to Emma's Christening last weekend. So cute.

and we went up to Connecticut for the opening of Rob's friend's restaurant, Liv's Oyster Bar. Rob designed the logo, etc...

Urban babies wear black

As you can see, we're torturing Luca by posing him to make cute photos! It's every first-time parents RITE!

The faux-furry vest and hat were a gift from Rob's boss' and it's the softest, cutest addition to his already ridiculously huge wardrobe.

The "pumpkin patch" was a bit much with all the people/kids and Luca isn't really old enough to enjoy picking out his own pumpkin, but it was a nice brisk fall day and a chance to get out of the apartment and explore Long Island.

Sitting pretty

Luca is sitting with the help of a BUMBO chair....thanks to Cathy and Derek! It's a wonderful aid for a boy who can just recently hold his own head up.

He was helping daddy with some Fusebox work.

Luca's first ride with daddy in his Bjorn carrier.

More time spent with Grandma (who only lives 5 minutes away).

Karen's visit from Portland to meet Luca

What an exciting weekend filled with a lot of firsts for Luca. Friday we went to the mall for the first time and ate at Nordstrom's cafe. We didn't do a lot of shopping, but walked around and got lost in the mall. Then on Saturday Luca took his first Long Island Rail Road trip into the city. It's only a 25 minute train ride from Bayside, Queens into Manhattan. We shopped a bit and then took the N subway train downtown to Soho. That was Luca's first subway experience too. We ate brunch outside at a soho restaurant and had a star sighting...Jack Black with wife and baby in tow. We spotted him eyeing our Bugaboo stroller. Then we went to Renee and Jeff's apartment to hang out. Patty stopped by and Luca fell asleep on her shoulder. Then we headed home and found Rob (who is sick with a cold) making home-made pasta for us and had a cheese plate out with homemade spreads for the bread! YUMMY! Sunday we had brunch in Brooklyn with Cathy, Kalyani and Cathy's friend Amy. Karen's visit was too short! She helped out a lot while she was here, and she even changed diapers and cleaned bottles! We love her and Luca will never forget her.
