Fall 2011--Kindergarten

Our Fall harvest.

Going to meet Ms. Redd for the first time.

Ms. Redd's classroom.

My first day of big boy school, Kindergarten!

Luca's entire walk to school on his first day!
Yes, we live very close to his school.

My seat.

OK mom, you can go now, really!

PJ day at school

Crazy hair day at school!

Some of my new friends and I at a cabin in the woods
for Andrew's birthday party. The treasure hunt was so fun....

...but I fell into the creek trying to get the next clue.

ROAD TRIP to California

Our amazing trip to California:
  • First stop--The Oregon Caves
  • Second stop--Visit Marc in Humboldt County & drive thru the redwoods
  • Third stop--a few nights in Mendocino
  • Fourth stop--Assault on the Russian River
  • Fifth stop--Granzie and Bumpa in Sonoma
  • Sixth stop--Santa Cruz with Scott Edelstein
  • Seventh stop--more time in Sonoma with Granzie and Bumpa
drive HOME
We put over 2,000 miles on our new CRV!

The Oregon Caves

Schroeder Park, on our way to the Oregon Caves.

The 1 1/2 hour tour was fun, but too long.

I took this shot of mom and dad.

Now, I'm closing my eyes for the rest of the photos.

A family photo after the caves tour.

The BEST milkshake in Oregon @ Oregon Caves diner.

Another good family shot!

The chateau is old and accommodations are simple, but it's a fun
one night get-away.

Hiking behind the hotel.

Humboldt County

We stayed the night at Dad's friend, Marc and Jodi's home.
Beautiful beaches

Dad and Marc.

My second home will be a beach bungalow.

Form of a man!

Our hosts, Marc and Jodi.

The Redwoods

YAY! We made it.

Sasquatch is SCARY!

I've seen big foot before...he's a Schroeder.

WILD Elk.

Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue OX.

A refreshing stop at a river.

I fell asleep right before we arrived at the Shrine Drive-Thru Tree
but perked up when we got out to explore.

Seriously sleepy boy in the back seat. Missed the whole drive thru part!

This is one of the 6th largest trees in the world.

A real TREE FORT.

Mendocino, Little River

The view of the ocean from our hotel in Little River, CA.
Foggy (all the time), but peaceful.

Fuchsias must love it in Mendocino.

Throwing rocks into the ocean is fun.

My cool new bumblebee (transformer) sunglasses.
