NYC part 4: the last day

Early birthday present from Kalyani.
Iron man comic book and Plastic Man action figure.

Mom's old favorite club turned into some swanky shops.
It was a Church...The Limelight...more dance clubs...and then shopping.

We bought a book at the Limelight shops, a
kids book about NYC.

The ONE-ZERO precinct in Chelsea.

The new High Line park. A park build on
abandoned elevated train tracks.

The High Life on the High Line.

A view of advertising and the Hudson River.

In the background, Lady Liberty.
Too humid to see her though.

Benches on the High Line.

Kalyani and I...
Right now I like showing everyone my butt.

What a relief. An open hydrant in the Meat Packing District.

We posed this one with the taxi in the background.

Fun times.
We miss NYC.

Another posed shot on a West Village stoop.
It was for sale, should we buy it?

Subway stop in W. V.

NYC pizza and silly faces.

The Ducks and The Dunes

Day two of our STAY-cation.
Eugene/University of Oregon. Then off to the Dunes in Florence, OR.
Driving up the coast and back to PDX.

_____________________________________________

The campus was so quiet.
I bought my first DUCK shirt.

My mommies alma mater.

Cool climbing tree on campus.

The dunes.
We went from 80 degrees to 60 on the coast.
The sand was BLASTING us.

Good shells to collect.

A very cool beach with caves, tidal pools, and this bridge.
(the largest sea lion cave in the world is very near,
so there are probably great white sharks there too).

Shelter from the blowing sand.

One of the caves.
Daddy striking a pose.

We see a starfish.

My first OREGON COUNTRY FAIR--so fun

We took the free bus from Eugene to the
OREGON COUNTRY FAIR.
It was so easy and we arrived just as the fair was kicking off.
It was a hot day, no clouds, but plenty of shade in
the forest where most of the fun takes place.

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

We were feeling the groove.

The signs don't really help. There are too many
nooks and crannies to get lost in here!

Some of the street musicians.

Mom's old college friend Tim was working at the fair.

Cool mirrors.

One of the many parades.
There are lots of stilt walkers in costume.

Very GREEN parade.
Dragon!

One of many little meals.
The food here is amazing.

A quiet spot to nap or play.
Mermaid spitting water.

OM!

Forest art.

Just in case you get "lost".

Lots of little stages to see musicians play.
This was a Hawaiian-Reggae band.

Free child care (and face painting) while you cruise around
Energy Park to look at all the sustainable ways to live!

Superman cape & Tie-Dye.

Another parade.
Tie-Dye underwear band.

Creatures on stilts.

I was a little cranky at the beginning of the fair
because I stayed up until 11 pm the night before.
But after I bought this superman cape I was a happy boy.

At the end of the fair the streets are so peaceful.

At the drum tower. End of the day and a tired boy.

Lots of skin showing.

Bam Bam dancing to the drums with a bone in hand.

OCF atmosphere.
