Daddy love

It's no wonder his second REAL sound is DA DA!

Tamborine time

This was Luca's last music together class for the season. Luckily we signed up for another 12 weeks. He loves being entertained and will probably join in more this time around now that he's getting around on his own.

UNTITLED!

My Aunt Ellen in California MADE this hat for me.

Luca didn't like being HELD in this play pen while mommy tried to work at her computer.

Standing in my playpen, laughing at mommy and daddy.

7 MONTHS

We saw Dr. Capilupi yesterday and Luca's doing everything he's supposed to be doing, and developing right on target. His new stats are:
23 lbs.
29 1/4" tall
2 teeth on the bottom

He's standing with help, rocking back and forth on all fours, sitting like a champ, and now saying "DAA DAA" and "UH MA". He says da da all the time and says uhma when he wants/needs something!

Swinging in Bayside

Luca was more interested in the other children running around. It was his first real trip to the park and it was a beautiful crisp sunny day so everyone was out playing.

mmmmmm.....BISCUTS!

Mom let me eat my first teething biscut. It's very messy. I cut both my bottom front teeth within the last week and I need these badly, but mom is scared I'll choke!!!

We came up with a great solution. This snack popsicle is safe and I can chew my biscuts, bananas or ice right thru the mesh.

Lock up your daughters

6 months old last weekend and he's weighing in at 23.5lbs. now. A little chubby, but very tall.

Luca is SITTING on his own now. He still falls over every once in a while (like right after I took this photo), but he sits and rolls around like a pro. He also gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth. This kid wants to get moving!

Green beans

Luca didn't care for his first green food (green beans) but he's gotten better at swallowing them instead of spitting them out. What kind of vegetarian will he be if he doesn't like his green beans???
He's scooting backwards now and sometimes gets into a bit of trouble since he has no directional abilities. We watched him scoot under the chair and get stuck...and then rescued him.

ALMOST 1/2 Year OLD

Since Luca knows how to roll over from his back to his tummy like a champion, he's now sleeping on his tummy.

I've started making all his baby food, which is a lot easier than I thought. He's had PEARS, CARROTS, BANANAS, APPLES, and SWEET POTATOES. I'm going to try green beans and peaches this week. He's really a good eater so I don't anticipate any problems.

Luca has his first bad cold but seems to be getting through it. I just heard that kids tend to have 8-10 colds a year. Doesn't that seem high? The good thing is that neither Rob or I caught it!

His newest sound is "HOOOO" which makes him sound like a little owl!

5 months old

His recent stats:
Height: 27-1/2"
Weight: 19 lbs. 8.5 oz.
Head: 43.7 cm (huge brain)

He's off the charts in height and weight still, but the doctor said he's height/weight proportioned.

This week Luca and I started Music Together classes (singing, musical instruments, dancing, moving). He's the youngest in his class, but he loves watching kids, singing and moving. He laughed a lot and vocalized his newest letter..."B"...baaaa uhba.
Yesterday after his doctors appointment we started Luca on carrots. Yummy.

East Coast meets West Coast

Luca took his first airplane trip to CALIFORNIA for Christmas. He was great on the plane both ways and loved meeting a lot of his west coast relatives.

Grandma Barbara saw us off the night before we left and helped Luca open his first Christmas present.

Luca met Aunt Andrea (AnAn), Aunt Meredith (Aunt Mer), Bumpa (Fred), his great-grandfather Ed and great-grandmother Tina, and his doggy Jackson.
He also got to meet the Reisinger's and his new first cousins ONCE removed, Tatum and Drake!! He loved spending time with all of them.
He also met his Aunt Enricka--mommy's friend from high school.

Granzie showed him his first CRAB and cuddled with him as much as she could. Aunties Mer and AnAn both took turns feeding him and snuggling him too.

While we were there Luca MASTERED rolling over from back to tummy, and also making sounds like a native American Indian (if you put your hand to his mouth).

It was a wonderful trip home!
